The National Weather Service is warning Coloradans about severe weather that's expected in much of the state on Thursday, June 27, including the heavily-populated Front Range.

The most severe storms should occur over northeast Colorado, with main threats of the system being hail up to 1.75 inches in diameter – about the size of a golf ball – and gusty winds up to 70 miles per hour. While the worst of the storms should hit that northeast region, there is a slight chance of severe storms over the mountains, foothills, and urban corridor, as well. Flooding is also a concern.

Even in places where 'non-severe' storms are expected, hazards could include 50 mile-per-hour wind gusts, small hail, and heavy rainfall.

Meanwhile, a flood watch has been activated on the entire western slope with heavy rain expected.
