"Genius," wrote @carli.shaw . She's so happy! It's amazing how much cooler you feel when your feet are in the water. This way, she gets to play in the pool outside and mom's hands are free! Commenters were totally into the idea.

If you don't have an activity center, some TikTok users said they do the same thing with a bath seat (of course, baby should be supervised at all times).

When Can Babies Use an Activity Center?

As parents everywhere know, baby activity centers can be super helpful any time of year, particularly when you need your little one to be contained for a few minutes. They devices can be a great way for babies to practice standing, bouncing, and using objects like buttons and noisemakers, according to Babycenter, and give babies an opportunity "to get exercise beyond the recommended tummy time ."

That said, most babies shouldn't use activity centers until they're around 4 to 9 months old, when they can hold themselves up. Also, be sure to follow the safety recommendations of the model you buy. For example, always keep your baby in view when they're using the activity center, and don't use one by "stairs (or anywhere where falls or possible), stoves (or anywhere where burns are a risk), swimming pools, or other hazardous areas." Activity centers should only be placed on flat, level surfaces, and shouldn't be moved while your child is sitting in it.

If you're trying the trick in this video, don't forget to protect your baby from the sun. Use sunscreen and choose a shady spot for the activity center and pool. According to What to Expect, babies and small children shouldn't be outside for any "prolonged period of time" if it's over 90 degrees .

And while you're watching your baby in the activity center, you might want to try dipping your own toes in the pool!
