PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — Girls Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington have made the switch to a different bakery, meaning cookie fiends across the region may notice new flavors or names starting next year.

The youth organization’s many troops throughout the U.S. either sell products from Little Brownie Bakers or ABC Bakers .

The Pacific Northwest chapter currently offers Little Brownie treats, but on Wednesday, it notified members that it signed a contract with ABC that goes into effect in 2025.

In an email, GSOSW CEO Shannon Evers explained that the chapter chose ABC because of its recent infrastructure investments and its history as a responsive, reliable baker. It is also Girl Scouts’ oldest cookie partner, with a relationship spanning back to 1937. Little Brownie baked its first cookie for the organization in 1970.

According to the Pacific Northwest chapter, the organization has reconsidered its cookie partnership since 2023. A Girl Scouts spokesperson said the organization was “extremely disappointed” with Little Brownie due to ongoing issues at its Louisville, Ky., factory that same year.

“Global supply chain issues, local labor shortages, and even unforeseen severe weather have all impacted the selling season but Little Brownie Bakers is on track to fulfill initial orders,” LBB said, in part, in a statement. “Little Brownie Bakers understands what cookie season means to Girl Scouts and takes our commitment to them very seriously… We are reviewing our processes and planning further improvements for next season.”

LBB is the sole company that bakes Tagalongs, Do-Si-Dos, Lemon-ups, Girl Scout S’mores, Toffee-Tastic and Samoas. ABC’s lineup includes Toast-Yays, Lemonades, Peanut Butter Patties, Peanut Butter Sandwiches, Caramel Chocolate Chip and Caramel deLites.

Some flavors offered by each business are a slightly different version of the classic cookies, such as Caramel deLites instead of Samoas and Peanut Butter Sandwiches instead of Do-Si-Dos.

Both bakers offer Thin Mints, Adventurefuls and Trefoils.
