Liverpool vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold and Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham have laughed off the notion that they are "inseparable" during their time with the England squad.

Despite being frequently photographed together over the past couple of years, and seemingly showcasing a tight bond during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the duo insists their relationship isn't as close as it appears. Liverpool supporters had once hoped Alexander-Arnold's camaraderie with Bellingham might sway the young star to Anfield , but those dreams were dashed when Liverpool withdrew from the pursuit, allowing Real Madrid to clinch his signature.

Now, with rumors circulating that Bellingham could be influencing Alexander-Arnold to consider a move to Spain following his standout season, the gossip has intensified as Alexander-Arnold enters the final year of his contract without a new deal in sight. Despite the speculation and observations of their inseparability within the England camp, the players themselves have downplayed such suggestions.

Addressing the rumors, Bellingham said: "I don't get where that comes from that we're that close! It's a bit weird. Inseparable is a bit much." Alexander-Arnold, agreeing with this perspective, added: "We're not inseparable! It's because every time the camera is around, we are together."

When asked what he would prefer they be known as, Bellingham responded: "Anything but inseparable!" Clearly a big fan of Bellingham, Alexander-Arnold confessed ahead of Euro 2024 that the impressive season enjoyed by the Birmingham-born star was no surprise to him.

"For people closest to him who saw him play at the World Cup, and have been with him at England camps, it's no surprise how he has performed this season, with the mentality and ability he has got. He's going to be very important to England, now and in the future," Liverpool's No. 66 told FourFourTwo .

Liverpool.com says: Whether the pair are close or not, they are two of the most talented players that England has produced for some time. Gareth Southgate needs to find a way to get more from each of them if the Three Lions are to get anywhere close to the Euro 2024 final in Germany.
