Singer-songwriter Clinton Kane amassed a massive TikTok following by sharing one of his greatest passions: music. Since joining the platform, he has shared multiple songs he created himself along with his DJing skills.

Although Clinton typically gains tons of views on his videos, some are more popular than others. His signature videos have included him reacting to his songs and being excited about what he hears. The excitement sparked a viral search on TikTok for the words "Clinton Kane shake" — which led to confusion about why people were searching that particular phrase.

TikTok users question Clinton Kane's behavior after "Clinton Kane Shake" goes viral.

The search results from "Clinton Kane Shake" show multiple videos of Clinton dancing to his songs or newer songs he found online. In the videos, the singer often looks like he's shaking while he dances and screams to the music, something he's done since at least 2021.

A TikTok user named @therealkatherine posited in a June 2024 stitch of Clinton singing that his reaction videos sparked the "Clinton Kane Shake" search trend. She shared that she was "curious" about why the search was so popular until she stumbled upon a video of Clinton reacting to one of his songs from January 2024.

Katherine's stitch sparked a larger conversation about why the influencer dances how he does on camera. Multiple users called him out for possibly copying fellow TikTok singer Dermot Kennedy , with other users dragging him for appearing to be doing too much. Amid the petty comments were even bolder allegations that Clinton was "acoustic."

For those who don't speak TikTok, "acoustic" has nothing to do with music. Instead, it's a way to call someone "autistic" without actually pronouncing the word correctly. Many TikTok users believe Clinton's mannerisms are similar to those of a person with autism. It's important to note that the singer himself has never said that he has autism or any other behavioral or mental health disorder.

The chatter about why Clinton shakes in his videos come after his ex, Brooke Schofield , released a multi-video TikTok rant detailing how he cheated on her. Another woman, Ansley (@ansleyspinks) posted a video with claiming he DM'd her then-15-year-old little sister .
