We have seen nearly every cleaning hack for kitchens. Quick methods for deodorizing stinky garbage disposals , how and why you should deep clean your wooden kitchen spatulas and spoons, how to seriously polish stainless steel, and that cleaning your kitchen sink faucet is not only necessary but it's extremely easy.

Now while we love a good hack, there seems to not be one for cleaning all surfaces to reduce smudging and fingerprints, something all of us struggle with. And while there are countless “specality” products on the market that are made specifically to tackle this job, they often don't work that well and are just flat-out expensive. One homeowner shared her DIY solution for that seriously repels smudges and fingerprints on surfaces, we just need to go back to the basics, check out her money-saving DIY cleaning solution below!

Viral Cleaning Hacks You Shouldn’t Do

Viral hack not to try #1:

Baby oil on stainless steel. This doesn’t clean any grime, it just builds a film layer over the top of it.

Viral hack not to try #2:

Boiling wooden utensils to “deep '' clean them. This removes their protective layer and often leads to cracking or a full break.

Viral hack not to try #3:

Using ‘The Pink Stuff’ to clean burn marks off the stovetop. It will only scratch the glass badly.

Viral hack not to try #4:

Lysol toilet bowl cleaner is used on grout. This breaks down the grout and makes deeper crevices for grime to get packed into.

Viral hack not to try #3:

Coating the bathroom in shaving cream for a deep clean. It's expensive and uses a lot of products that really don't clean all that well.

Remember, clean smarter not harder !
