Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) called out Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) during a committee hearing over his attempts to hold Joe Biden’s ghostwriter in contempt.

The Republican-led House Judiciary Committee held a hearing on Thursday to hold the president’s ghostwriter in contempt of Congress. Republican lawmakers are trying to hold Mark Zwonitzer in contempt of Congress for not turning over audio tapes and notes from his interviews with Biden.

During the hearing, which was led by Jordan, Schiff objected to the resolution by suggesting that the Ohio Republican did not reach out for the requested documents from the author “for months” nor sought an accommodation from the White House.

Schiff ended his criticism by noting that Jordan, among other Republicans, ignored a subpoena by the January 6th Committee and refused to cooperate in their bipartisan investigation. Schiff said:

Your first move, of course, is to go right to contempt. Ironically, of course, for a chairman who was in contempt of his own subpoena…We’re still waiting for you to testify and meet the obligations of your own subpoena, Mr. Chairman.

But nevertheless, I appreciate your making such a clean record for any court in this case. You have never sought an accommodation, never written to the white House, never called the white House, never had a communication with the white House in order to obtain these materials as part of an accommodation. Thank you for that very clean record for the court.
