The Bold and the Beautiful fans say Ridge has "some nerve to talk" as he grilled Thomas about his rushed engagement to Paris after his messy track record.
During Thursday afternoon's episode, Thomas and his father Ridge finally had a one-on-one talk about his engagement during which Ridge expressed that he felt his son was moving on too fast. And while Thomas acknowledged that he and Paris did take the leap early on, he insisted that he is over his breakup with Hope and is ready to move forward with someone that is ready to fully commit.
During the tense interaction, Ridge accused Thomas of using Paris to get over Hope. He said: "You told me that you were hurt. You were vulnerable and maybe having Paris made that thing that happened with Hope hurt a little less - but it's a terrible reason to marry somebody."

Thomas urged that he was over Hope and was truly in love with Paris. He then went on to say that he believes it was fate that Hope turned down his proposals because it led him to meet the woman he was going to marry. By the end of the conversation, Ridge was silent and accepted Thomas' explanation although still seemed wary of the idea.
As Ridge was previously entangled in his own messy love triangle with Brooke and Taylor, fans thought he was the last person to speak on commitment and loyalty. Many fans took to X, formerly Twitter, slamming Ridge for his marriage advice to Thomas after his own quick rebound.
One fan wrote: " Given his track record, Ridge is the last person who should be grilling Thomas about his engagement." And another added: " Didn’t Ridge dangle the carrot in Taylor and Brooke’s face? He has some nerve to talk." And a third agreed: " Please not Ridge lecturing Thomas about love he's literally the last person with his track record."
And while many thought Ridge's advice was out of line with his own personal love life, a few sided with him claiming that he has a valid point about Thomas' quick proposal. One person wrote: "Ridge has every reason to question this S---. Steffy doesn't give AF what dumb stuff brother dearest does. She also has ZERO respect for Paris! and doesn't care if Douglas gets HURT in the process." And someone else added: "Ridge is having the right reaction Steffy is just happy it’s not Hope so she is ignoring all the red flags in this situation." And a third joked: "I hate when Ridge makes sense."
