    General Hospital fans in tears over Finn and daughter Violet's 'gut-wrenching' goodbye

    Finn and Violet had a goodbye that tugged at the heart strings on Thursday, leaving fans feeling emotional.

    On Thursday's General Hospital, Finn got his favor from brother Chase and said goodbye to his daughter Violet before heading to rehab. Brook Lynn brought Violet down to see her father and the joy was present in her face as they reunited. The joy was short-lived as the two began to talk. Violet started by asking him if he was okay since the last time she has seen her father was when he was drunk, bleeding and unconscious .

    Finn reassured her he was okay with his bandaged hand but then broke the news that he was going away and Violet will have to stay with uncle Chase a little way longer. Violet didn't understand why and said I thought you were better . The conversation that followed between father and daughter was a tear-jerker, with both getting emotional as Finn explained to his daughter the reason.

    Finn explained that he was better physically but his "head and heart" weren't. He elaborated that he’s been "so sad" since Grandpa Greg died and he drank alcohol to cope which is why she found him "sleeping" on the floor. Violet innocently asked, "Can’t you stop drinking alcohol?” Finn responded that some people can stop and he thought he was one of them but he was wrong. He explained that he had to go to a special hospital that will help him stop for good.

    Fans on social media were emotional over the 'gut-wrenching' scene and they complimented the wonderful performances given by Michael Easton (Finn) and Jophielle Love (Violet). One wrote on X formerly Twitter, "This was gut wrenching, but I'm happy Finn was honest with Violet and that she has family to love and care for her." A second fan said: "I have so many knots in my throat and stomach. Poor, Violet." Another said: "These scenes with Violet and Finn are so heartbreaking but the acting of Jophielle Love and Michael Easton is just incredible, got me tearing up. "A Reddit fan said: "Holy sh-t, Violet is just breaking my damn heart, the actress is FANTASTIC."

    The conversation continued with Finn informing Violet that he'll be gone for three months and Violet responded that it seemed like a long time and asked if he really needed to go. She added she could stop him from drinking alcohol. He stressed to Violet he doesn't want to leave but he has to go to get better because what happened before can never happened again. He also apologized for how she found him mentioned she must have been scared. Violet agreed, saying she thought he was dead like grandpa.

    He told Violet that while he understood her desire to take care of him, it's that's not her job but his. He also stated that he needed to go away so he can "be able to take care of her and be the dad she deserves." He emphasized he made a terrible mistake but none of that it's her fault. The two hugged and told each other they loved one another.

    Chase, who has been in the background with Brook Lynn as Finn and Violet talked, said it's time for him and Finn to go. Finn assured Violet that he'll be back before she knows it and she'll have fun with her aunt and uncle. The two expressed how much they'd miss each other. Violet gave him a bracelet from her wrist and Finn put it in his pocket near his heart where he said he'll keep it "every day." The exchange more I love yous. Then Violet watched her father leave. He blew her kiss which she tearfully smiled at while clasping her hands together as if she was capturing the final kiss.

    This was the final episode for Michael Easton who played Finn. The June 27 episode ended with Finn opening the door to the rehab center called Sky Meadow Lodge. Michael announced on June 26 he was leaving the ABC show after ten years.
