Bowman might not be the last House antisemite to lose a primary

Rep. Jamaal Bowman’s (D-NY) primary loss is the first defeat for the antisemites that make up “the Squad,” but it may not be the last.

With his Hamas rape apologia and bizarre campaign shouting at rallies not in his district, Bowman went down in flames to challenger George Latimer, meaning Bowman will no longer be in Congress starting next January. Bowman is an antisemite and a racial agitator, and the country will be better without him having a say on federal legislation.

You could say this primary loss couldn’t happen to a better antisemite, but that would not be true. Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), and Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) are all among those the country would be better off watching lose a primary. There are two others, though, that are in serious danger of losing, meaning Bowman’s loss might just be the tip of the iceberg for the House’s antisemitic posse.

Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) will be in the hot seat at Missouri’s primary Aug. 6. Bush rode Black Lives Matter lies into office and predictably supported the antisemitic protests that plagued college campuses. She is currently neck-and-neck with primary challenger Wesley Bell, who is pro-Israel, which explains why Bush is whining about money being spent by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee in Bowman’s primary despite Bowman polling well behind Latimer before that money was even spent.

One week after Missouri’s primary is Minnesota’s, where Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) is facing a rematch with Don Samuels, who came just two points short of defeating her in 2022. Omar’s well-documented antisemitic track record is rivaled only by Tlaib. Omar's loss would be even more meaningful than Bush’s or Bowman’s, given that she was one of the original “Squad” members.

Bowman’s loss is great news and a good start, but the country would be better off if the rest of the antisemites in the House Democratic Caucus met the same electoral fate. If Bush and Omar also go down in flames, the 2024 election cycle will be a successful one regardless of the results in other races.
