What started with a redheaded Prohibition revolutionary recently celebrated its 90th anniversary of business in Texas, according to a company news release.

Pinkie's, a Texas-born chain for alcoholic beverages, was incorporated in March 1934, less than 1 year after the end of the Prohibition. The business is named after its creator, Thomas "Pinkie" Roden, who ran the business until the late 1980s.

“We are incredibly grateful to our loyal customers, dedicated employees, and supportive partners who have been integral to our success throughout this remarkable journey,” said Austin Keith, president. “This anniversary signifies not only the years of hard work and determination but also the immense potential that lies ahead as we continue to revolutionize the package store landscape.”

Moving forward, Pinkie's hopes to look into new markets, grow its selection and continue "delivering exceptional value to its customers," according to the release. Currently, Pinkie's has locations in Abilene, Alpine (Twin Peaks Liquors), Amarillo, Lubbock, Midland, Odessa, San Angelo, Snyder and Sweetwater, and employs more than 175 people.
