YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Goshen Township woman facing charges in an alleged puppy sale scheme is now facing new charges following an indictment by a Mahoning County grand jury.

The indictment lists 26 fifth-degree felony theft charges, one count of theft from a person in a protected class and 12 first-degree misdemeanor petty theft charges against April Waidman, 40.

Waidman had previously, in April, been indicted on 30 theft counts involving puppy sales. Prosecutors said she had advertised puppies for sale on social media and that she collected thousands of dollars over several years from her alleged victims but never produced any dogs.

Prosecutors say some of the victims received puppies in poor health.

At the time, prosecutors said they believed Waidman had swindled at least 32 victims but they were investigating to see if there were others.
