Cats have a reputation for being naturally curious creatures. They never hesitate to push unfamiliar objects off counters to see what happens when they fall. Nor do they shy away from climbing into boxes or bags.

This also applies to human food and drinks. While some show no interest in tasting them, others want to know precisely what their person is consuming. Their insatiable spirit often leads to amusing situations, and this inquisitive kitty's encounter is a perfect example that's sure to make you laugh.

See what this frisky feline thought about carbonated water in this video shared on June 23:

If you've ever taken a sip or a bite of something that didn't taste or feel as you expected, you'll understand this adorable Bengal's situation. Callie (@ calliethecalzone ) got much more than she bargained for when she tried a sip of Mom's sparkling water. The moment she put her tiny head into the glass, she knew something wasn't right. Those fizzy bubbles must've gone straight up her nose because she quickly tried to shake them off and paw them away. Yep, that's some spicy water right there! It's a hilarious moment that we can all appreciate, and it's hard to imagine what must go through an animal's mind when they have an experience like this. But if I had to guess, they probably wonder what is wrong with our taste and drinks! At least, that's what I thought the first time I experienced seltzer water.

    The History of Bengal Cats

According to the ASPCA, the first Bengal cat appeared in 1963 after breeder Jean Mill crossed a Domestic Shorthair with an Asian Leopard cat, giving them distinctive spots and playful personalities. Like their wild ancestors, they are fascinated with water, which adds an intriguing element to their behavior. So it's no surprise that Callie couldn't resist putting her head into Mom's drink.

Pet parents shared their fur kid's first experience with carbonated beverages. Viewer @markacevallos revealed, "Mine loves stealing my sparkling water. Of course, he's orange, so." Ha! That sounds about right. Another person shared, "And then there is my little four-legged demon. If I have Dr Pepper, he will try to steal it. And if I don't allow him to, he will scream until he gets his way." Talk about having a soda addiction! Viewer @katnightfox remarked, "I am that cat. Can't stand the spicy water." It is indisputably an acquired taste.

In time, this curious kitty might develop a fondness for bubbly water. However, it's probably nice for Mom to have a drink she doesn't have to share.
