There are a lot of things a puppy needs to learn to grow into a confident and happy dog. Some, like Bucket the Golden Retriever, have big sisters to teach you the ways of the world.

On June 26, 2024, the TikTok account of Pacha the Golden ( @goldengirlpacha ) shared the sweetest video listing some of the things big sister Pacha taught her little sis. Wait until you see how cute they are together!

The 43-second clip captioned, "When you end up with 2 of the exact same dog," opens with a close-up of Bucket lying on top of Pacha in the kitchen. The words, "Things our 2-year-old dog has taught her little sister" are written on the screen before the video cuts to Bucket's first lesson: "How to climb the stairs at 8 weeks," which Bucket does beautifully as big sis looks on. And, just as she learned how to go up, she quickly learned how to go down while carrying a water bowl with Pacha not far behind.

Lesson number two says, "all clothing items must be retrieved the second they touch the ground," showing a dog chewing each end of a shirt, followed by Pacha showing Bucket how to take :"high value items" like socks. "The smellier, the better."

Learning lesson three is simple: "Look extra sad always gets you more treats," which both are naturals at doing. The next thing Pacha shows Bucket is how to run away from "pants," which are "the root of all evil" but also "get you to go on fun adventures."

And finally, big sis shows little sis how to easily climb onto a chair, though baby Bucket hasn't gotten the hang of this one quite yet. The clip touched many, with some giving Pacha major props.

"Pacha is such a good teacher," one person wrote. "Such a good older sibling!" another added. "I just know your vacuum is putting in WORK with all that fur," another joked.

The Benefits Of Older Dogs Teaching Young Pups

Pacha is making this teaching thing look easy with her brand new baby sister, but it's true that young ones look up to, and learn from, older fur babies—for better or worse.

According to VetHelpDirect , older dogs are helping train younger ones by providing a calming influence to soothe new home anxieties, they can set examples (good or bad) on how to navigate the world, and they can learn important social skills to ease them into their new pack.

Pacha knows how important her role is as Bucket's sister, and she doing it with flying colors.
