Summer Snow Tubing at Keystone Is Now Open

If you're looking to beat the summer heat, Keystone might be the answer.

As of last Thursday, Keystone's Summer Snow Tubing Hill is officially open for the season, offering the only natural summer snow tubing experience in the country.

While most resorts rely on artificial mats and water to offer a slippery tubing surface, Keystone's high elevation (11,640 feet) paired with "snow farming" from the remains of the world's largest mountaintop snow fort, keep the mountaintop a winter wonderland well into the summer.

Things to know before you go

• Location: Adventure Point—top of Dercum Mountain.
• Parking: Free parking will be available in the River Run Parking Lot. Free lots can be full on busy weekends and holidays, so plan accordingly.
• Check-In: Check-in is located at the Mountain Services Center in River Run’s Gondola Plaza. Keystone recommends that guests check in 40 minutes prior to your reservation. Guests are required to present the credit card used for purchase upon activity check-in.
• Hours: Thursday - Monday: 10 am to 2 pm—weather and conditions permitting
  • Friday–Sunday after August 5
  • Open Monday, September 2
  • Closed Monday, June 24
• When: Weather Dependent! Availability based on snow conditions.
• Tickets : Tubing can be purchased in 1 or 3 runs. Lift access is not included with tubing ticket.
• Requirements: Closed-toe shoes required. You must be at least 42 inches tall to tube (around 4 years old). Keystone recommends this activity for the more adventurous kid.
