    CCSO to continue Reserve Law Enforcement Officer Certification Course

    COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – The Columbia County Sheriff’s Regional Training Center (RTC) is beginning another round of its Reserve Law Enforcement Officer Certification Course this August.

    According to Captain Chris Railey, “The class will be open to all agencies and pre-service students wanting to change careers or volunteer as a reserve deputy.”

    The 20-week-course is expected to last August 5, 2024 through December 21, 2024.

    Training is free for students employed by agencies, but $1,500 for those who are not hired by an agency.

    Back in March of this year, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Regional Training Center graduated its first class of recruits .

    The mission of the Columbia County Sheriff’s (RTC) is, “to provide a professional adult learning atmosphere where all agencies of Georgia may send their employees for training.”
