Mattie Jackson Smith has welcomed Baby No. 1!

Jackson Smith and her husband, Connor Smith , are parents to a newborn baby boy, she shared on Thursday (June 27). Wesley Alan Smith arrived on June 20.

“One week ago my life was forever changed,” Jackson Smith wrote as she shared photos on Instagram . “Wesley Alan Smith joined our little family on Jun 20th, the absolute best birthday gift I could have ever imagined. There is no greater honor in life than being chosen by God to be your mom. And no sweeter joy than watching your daddy adore you and protect you already. Even Ryman has reluctantly warmed up to her new little brother. You have all my heart and my prayers, baby boy. If you’re anything like both your namesakes (Conor’s granddad and [Alan Jackson]), you’ve got quite a life ahead of you.”

Jackson Smith, legendary country singer Alan Jackson ’s eldest daughter, announced earlier this year that she was pregnant with her first child . The In Joy Life with Mattie Jackson podcast host wrote in her announcement : “I feel like I said so many times last year that 2023 topped the charts with more joy and celebration and redemption than any yet. Well, I have a feeling 2024 may give it a run for its money… 🙏🏻🥳🙌🏻 We are absolutely thrilled to share BABY BOY SMITH coming this June!!! 💙 🥹 👶🏻 🤰🏻 💙” Days later, she opened up about the emotions she’d felt in her pregnancy up to that point after revealing the news in a post that was “ nothing but absolute joy .”

Jackson Smith — who married her husband in May 2023 — has since shared photos from some of the heartwarming milestones along the way, including baby showers and maternity photos by Nashville-based photographer Caitlin Floyd . The mother-to-be said earlier this month that her pregnancy has been “the fastest, most unbelievably beautiful season,” as she waited for “our new littlest love to arrive.”

The “Remember When” artist, set to receive the Poet's Award at the 17th ACM Honors in August , previously said “blessings are overflowing in our growing family.” Jackson said he and his wife of more than four decades, Denise, were “thrilled for our second grandson to arrive in June…and can’r wait to meet the next addition to our family.”

Jackson became a grandfather for the first time when his middle daughter, Ali Bradshaw , welcomed her first child , son Jackson Alvie . That was in December 2022, as Jackson and his wife celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary. He said at that time that he was “so happy that this little guy has made us grandparents!”

Jackson and his wife are parents to three adult daughters. they now have two grandsons.
