OHIO COUNTY, W.Va. (WTRF) – It’s something many people might take for granted. However, having a warm bed to sleep in is something many families can only wish for.

But thanks to the efforts of Southwestern Energy, it’s now a reality for several
    area children and adults.

On Thursday, members of the St. Vincent de Paul Society Bed Ministry received a $5,000 donation from the energy company.

Representatives from Southwestern met with volunteers from the St. Vincent de Paul ministry. They delivered and assembled beds to fifteen families and individuals in need of comfortable place to sleep.

“They are doing such great work and they are all volunteers. So there is no overhead. And the idea that our neighbors in need are struggling and we know that but to learn that they have gone into homes for different reasons, to give groceries or help with utility assistance and to learn that there were people and children sleeping on the floor. So anything we could do to help we wanted to.”

Stephanie Paluda, Community Relations Manager, Southwestern Energy

The St Vincent de Paul Society distribute around 120 beds throughout Ohio and Marshall Counties each year.
