Adriana Harmeyer reflected on her upsetting Jeopardy! loss.

After the quiz whiz made it 15 consecutive games, which is the 11th longest run ever, she ended up being defeated by Drew Basile . She said: "He did what made sense on that Daily Double, and as soon as he made that bet, I knew if he missed it, but if he got that right, it could change things. And he did, and that was impressive."

She chatted with host Ken Jennings on the Jeopardy! podcast, explaining where things went wrong. It wasn't only Drew's bold move that became a factor, but also her own exhaustion.

Ken said: "I wanna ask you about the possibility of fatigue. Viewers see one show every day, but if we were being honest about how Jeopardy! is taped, the last 13 games you played just within 72 hours of each other. Does that take a toll?"

Adriana admitted that Ken was right; things weren't quite as easy as fans may think. In fact, the Jeopardy! taping process is just as grueling as the game itself, if not more so. She further reflected on her loss to Drew.

Ultimately, the fatigue likely contributed to her loss to Drew who is now on his own impressive undefeated run. He has even secured himself a spot in the Tournament of Champions. Adriana isn't blaming it all on her exhaustion, though.

One thing that Adriana noticed was that her buzzer speed was slower which can throw a major curveball into her game play. "I can feel that I'm a little slower on the buzzer. My brain is taking longer to piece things together, yeah. Big factor," she explained.

The trivia guru admitted to be absolutely broken down by the pace of filming. Whereas fans seen one episode a day, the contestants are taping multiple times per day. "One thing I want to point out to people is how many games you played in such a short amount of time. To play that much Jeopardy! in a short amount of time is something few people can understand," she explained while speaking with producer Sarah Foss.

She added: "It was more exhausting than I expected. By the third day, I could feel it wearing on me a little bit. I just did my best to fight through it and keep going as best I could to focus on buzzer speed and keep remembering things. An unusual experience, I think."

Sarah clarified that, typically, there aren't three taping days in a row. Unfortunately, Season 40 was under a bit of a time crunch which caused the schedule to get a little more intense than usual.
