FORECAST: Heat & humidity spike; storms ahead

(WJW) – Summer heat returns with weekend storms ahead.

Cool morning temperatures on Friday won’t last long as a southerly flow returns. Highs will be in the low to mid-80s.

There will be a brief spike in the heat and humidity on Saturday ahead of our next cold front. This front will bring in a round of downpours and storms on Saturday and a summer cool-down on Sunday.

With all the heat and humidity in the atmosphere, some of the storms on Saturday could be strong and produce locally heavy rainfall.

Sunday is going to be the nicer half of the weekend for outdoor activities! More of a spring feel .

Looking ahead, we warm back into the mid and upper 80s as we head towards Independence Day. It’ll be a warm one for the picnics and parades. Right now, the forecast looks dry for fireworks!
