Serbia's goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic was reportedly involved in a physical clash with a fan at a bar in Germany prior to his team's Euro 2024 elimination.

Milinkovic-Savic, who plays for Torino, is the brother of international teammate Sergej. He was Serbia's first-choice goalkeeper for the 2022 World Cup but didn't see any action during the Euros . Reports from his home country suggest he got into a physical altercation after a fan confronted him on a day off before the team's final group match.

Serbia was knocked out of the Euros after finishing last in Group C. They suffered a 1-0 defeat against England in their opening game, followed by a 1-1 draw with Slovenia and a goalless draw with Denmark.

Serbian outlet Telegraf reports that the incident occurred in a Munich bar popular with Serbians. Boss Dragan Stojkovic has dismissed any rumors of fights within the team's training camp or elsewhere, while bar's manager tells a different story than the initial reports. Mirror Football has reached out to the Serbian FA for a statement.

"Vanja came to our cafe, but the security at the entrance did not recognize him and they did not want to let him in because he was wearing national team shorts, which made him angry and there was a fight," the unnamed bar manager told Telegraf.

"I soon intervened, I grabbed his hand and told him to come in with me, but he refused. Everything happened in the garden of the restaurant. I did not hear what they said to each other. I'm glad that in the end we solved everything."

In the same report, Stojkovic made some cryptic comments regarding fights during practice or bar intoxication. He later clarified, however, that these remarks weren't targeted at his players' behavior, over whom he expressed "pride".

Serbia reached the Euros by coming second in a group that included Hungary, Montenegro, Lithuania, and Bulgaria, yet only managed one goal in the finals before making an exit. In his ultimate press conference following their last match, Stojkovic made it a point to question the struggles of England.

"Everyone thought England might be some miracle from another planet but they were nothing like that," He shared with journalists. "The expectations were just different."

Upon reflecting on his squad's progress in Germany, he expressed: "We are disappointed that we failed to take the step we were missing. [The final game against Denmark] was even, we were looking for a chance and a goal, but unfortunately we didn't succeed. I am proud of my boys. Serbia showed themselves positively in a very even group."
