Good morning, I'm Will Richmond at The Providence Journal and this is the Daily Briefing.

Throughout the school year, our sports department combs the fields, courts, tracks and gyms to highlight the best high school players across Rhode Island.

It's not an easy task. While we may not have the glitz and glamor of five-star recruits, Rhode Island is full of student-athletes doing incredible things in their respective sports. And while we honor those players after their season is complete with the naming of our All-State teams, we like to give them a little bit more than just their names in the paper.

Last night we did just that at the annual All-State Rhode Island High School Sports Award show at the Veterans Auditorium.

Find all of our honorees here and then check out The Journal's Jonny Williams' coverage of the event that included guest speaker Nicole Mendes, who plays professionally with the New York Rise and is an ESPN softball analyst. Not to mention who helped to build Oklahoma University into a college softball dynasty.

    • As we wait to learn more about the fate of Stop & Shops it raises the question of just how competitive they are in Rhode Island.

To find out, The Journal's Paul Parker headed out to Bald Hill Road in Warwick and visited supermarkets to compare prices on popular items. Here's what he found.

    • Rhode Island is full of excellent colleges and universities, but how do they stack up against schools across the country?

The Journal's Wheeler Cowperthwiate checked in on the latest rankings from Money.com, which put seven of Rhode Island's nine four-year colleges and universities in its "best college" designation. Here's how they ranked.

    • It's been a years-long battle over the construction of a home on the Narrow River in Narragansett, but it looks like the fight is finally over.

The Hummel Report's Jim Hummel reports on the CRMC's decision regarding the home that would have sat on stilts on an undersized lot of wetlands.

    • The votes are in. See which beach has been selected as Rhode Island's best.
