    Man guilty in 2022 shooting death of Allegan Co. man

    ALLEGAN, Mich. (WOOD) — A man has been found guilty in the shooting death of a 21-year-old man in Allegan County in 2022.

    On Wednesday, the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office said a jury found James Edward Rawson Jr. guilty of first-degree murder, assault with intent to murder and two counts of possession of firearm during commission of a felony.

    On Friday, Nov. 4 , 2022, a woman called 911 and told dispatch she had been shot in the head by her ex-husband. When deputies arrived on the scene at the home near 104th Avenue and 56th Street in Lee Township, they found Samuel Williams dead, the sheriff’s office said.

    Char Rawson was shot multiple times.

    A sentencing hearing is scheduled for Aug. 2.
