DON’T NOD has announced it’s delaying Lost Records: Bloom & Rage , its new narrative adventure game, in order to give both it and the new Life is Strange “adequate space to shine.”

Bloom & Rage has been delayed to an unspecified time in early 2025, with DON’T NOD making the announcement in a post on X (formerly Twitter). The post acknowledges that fans will likely be excited for both Bloom & Rage as well as the newly announced entry in Square Enix’s Life is Strange franchise, Life is Strange: Double Exposure , which is scheduled to release on October 15.

Here’s the official description for Lost Records: Bloom & Rage ,

“The magical summer of 1995 is one of self-discovery and forging unbreakable bonds for high school friends Swann, Nora, Autumn, and Kat. 27 years of no contact later, fate reunites them to confront the long-buried secret that made them promise to never speak again”

The game was first announced at The Game Awards in 2023 , as a “story-driven journey through time”, that obviously shared quite a few similarities with Life Is Strange . DON’T NOD was the developer of the first two Life is Strange games before the franchise was taken over by Deck Nine Games with Life is Strange: True Colors .

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is planned to be released in two parts, with the second part releasing a month after the first. The game’s director, Michel Koch, has also said it’s being worked on “as the foundation for a possibly larger universe,” with the Lost Records label being used for a larger series, much like Life is Strange.

Meanwhile, Life is Strange: Double Exposure brings back the series’ original protagonist, Max Caulfield, who, of course, was created by DON’T NOD. Double Exposure features an adult version of Max, who must shift between two timelines to solve a murder mystery that involves her friend.
