Michael Strahan was once again missing from Friday’s (June 28) broadcast of Good Morning America , raising questions from concerned fans who are wondering when the broadcaster should be expected back on the air.

Strahan and his fellow co-anchor, Robin Roberts , have now both been mysteriously absent from the broadcast all week, leaving George Stephanopolous to hold down the fort. Strahan and Roberts were instead replaced Friday by Whit Johnson and ABC News Chief White House Correspondent Mary Bruce.

Despite Strahan’s absence, this has been a big week on Good Morning America. Dr. Jen Ashton , ABC’s chief medical correspondent, bid farewell to the network on Thursday (June 28) with a special tribute from her former colleagues that also featured Roberts and Strahan. Roberts praised Dr. Ashton for being “passionate and compassionate,” while Strahan said she “brings in medical fun” to the show.

Strahan and Roberts’ continued absence from the broadcast is beginning to raise questions from viewers. Is Michael still on Good Morning America ? When will he be back on the show?

‘Good Morning America’ Shakeup: Where Is Michael Strahan This Week?

Despite Strahan and Roberts’ apparent absence, Stephanopolous did not address why his co-anchors were not by his side. It remains a mystery why Strahan and Roberts have been missing from the broadcast this week, but we can assume that Roberts may still be enjoying sunny Portugal, where she recently completed a reporting trip with GMA .

Strahan, on the other hand, may be dealing with a personal family matter. The former NFL player has been open about his daughter Isabella’s fight with cancer after she received her diagnosis last fall. Strahan has missed weeks of work at a time this past year to support his family as she continues receiving treatment.

Decider reached out to ABC for more information about both Strahan and Roberts’ absences this week but did not hear back in time of publication.

As far as we know, Strahan is not going anywhere.

Despite his ongoing absence from the show, there has been no indication from ABC that he will not be returning to the show.

While it remains unclear when Roberts and Strahan will be back on the show, there’s a high chance viewers should expect to see them back next week.
