By this point, you've probably at least heard of the Cat Distribution System, if it hasn't touched your life already. But if you haven't, it's basically a name that people came up with to describe the phenomenon that cats just seem to find their people. Think about it: Many people you know may own your cats because they found them, stray or abandoned by their humans, wandering around outside. If that happened to you, congratulations! That is now your cat, say thank you!

And while sometimes the Cat Distribution System does mess up and deliver a cat to a home that can't take one in, this TikTok video is about a time that it happened exactly the way it was supposed to. Not only were the humans involved happy to rescue a sweet cat in need, but so was their adult cat already living at their house.

This sweet story shared by @laurenmoldy on Monday, June 24 starts with the OP going above and beyond to rescue a kitten who was trapped in a gutter. Judging by all the dirt on her face, it wasn't an easy rescue, but still, she managed to make it happen.

It was probably well worth it, judging by the clips that followed. It looks like it took no time at all for her adult orange Maine Coon cat (whose name is Oscar) to take the kitten (who looks like he might be a Maine Coon, too) in as his own. They already love each other so much!

They play together, they snuggle together, and Oscar even keeps the kitten bathed. I think they were definitely meant to find each other.

"I've never seen cats immediately get along this well," one commenter wrote. This is true — it usually takes at least a little time to warm up, but these two really did hit it off right away.

    More About Oscar's New Kitten

Commenters were dying to know if she kept the kitten after finding him, and in a follow up video that Oscar's mom posted soon after, we have our answer!

She was holding the kitten in the video, and she was only able to get a few seconds into her explanation before Oscar busted onto the scene, needing to be right next to his baby right away! And of course, they're keeping him — as she put it, "how could we not?"

They have already taken the kitten to the vet, where he was given a clean bill of health, and they've named him Maverick. He's officially a member of the family!

He seems to be fitting right in — and with a face like his , anyone would want to keep him forever.

The Cat Distribution System definitely did something right here!
