    Back to Black Blu-ray, DVD, & Digital Release Dates Set for Amy Winehouse Movie

    Universal Pictures Home Entertaiment has announced the Back to Black Blu-ray, DVD, & digital release dates for Focus Features’ Amy Winehouse biopic drama. During its theatrical run, the film earned a worldwide gross of over $50 million at the office. Despite its very low Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it still managed to garner an Audience Score of 86%, based on more than a hundred verified ratings.

    “The extraordinary story of Amy Winehouse’s early rise to fame from her early days in Camden through the making of her groundbreaking album, BACK TO BLACK, that catapulted Winehouse to global fame,” reads the synopsis. “Told through Amy’s eyes and inspired by her deeply personal lyrics, the film explores and embraces the many layers of the iconic artist and the tumultuous love story at the center of one of the most legendary albums of all time.”

    When is the Back to Black Blu-ray, DVD, & digital release dates?

    Back to Black will be available to rent or buy on digital on Friday, July 5. This will then be followed by its Blu-ray and DVD release on Tuesday, July 23. In addition, the film will also be available for streaming on Peacock starting on July 5.

    • Feature Commentary with Director Sam Taylor-Johnson

    The film was directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson from a script written by Matt Greenhalgh, who previously collaborated on 2009’s Nowhere Boy. It stars Marisa Abela (Industry) as Winehouse, Jack O’Connell (Ferrari), Eddie Marsan (Fair Play), and Lesley Manville (Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris). The film was made with the full support of Universal Music Group, Sony Music Publishing, and The Amy Winehouse Estate.
