Aldi confirms all 2,387 locations will change its hours for entire day and shoppers need to start planning now

Shoppers who rely on the store for groceries and discount goods should make alternative plans accordingly.

As the Fourth of July approaches, Americans eagerly await barbeques, fireworks, and picnics.

While the holiday brings a lot of excitement, it can also disrupt traffic, events, and shopping plans.

Many employees will have the day off next Thursday for the federal holiday, requiring Americans to plan their grocery outings ahead of time.

Those hoping to purchase hotdogs and hamburgers, for instance, may find locked doors at their local grocery store.

For example, most Aldi locations will shut their doors early on Independence Day.

A majority of the German grocer's 2,387 US stores are set to close early at 4 pm next Thursday.

There are 11 federal holidays. Here are the dates for 2024:

Select Aldi locations, such as the one in Altamonte Springs, Florida, will be closed for July Fourth.

Shoppers can expect varying hours and closures from retailers on Independence Day.

Stop & Shop will be open on the Fourth of July this year during regular hours.

The supermarket chain is typically open between 7 am and 10 pm on weekdays, but some locations have alternative hours.

Some are open from 6 am to 10 pm, while others operate between 7 am and 11 pm.

Shoppers can also depend on Meijer to be open on Independence Day.

The supercenter chain will follow its regular hours next Thursday, 6 am to 12 am.

Trader Joe's will also be open on July Fourth but will operate under different hours.

Most Trader Joe's stores will be open from 8 am to 5 pm, but store hours may vary.

Those who shop at Costco, however, are out of luck.

The bulk retailer will be closed on the Fourth of July.

Costco shuts its doors on six other federal holidays, including New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
