    Kayvon Thibodeaux.

New York Giants pass-rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux recently shared how he was jokingly trolled by club legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor about recording 11.5 sacks last season.

During Friday's edition of NFL Network's "The Insiders" program, Thibodeaux opened up about the chat he had with Taylor at last week's "New York Giants 100: A Night with Legends" event.

"I think it was funny," Thibodeaux explained, according to Bobby Kownack of the league's website. "L.T., he looked at me crazy when I said, 'L.T., what's the secret sauce?' He was like, 'Now you know damn well there ain't no secret sauce.' It's just funny thinking that when you make it to this level, you make it on the same things that you're taught as a kid. Hard work. Integrity. Dedication. And there's nothing different."

Giants icon Justin Tuck mentioned earlier this week how the offseason acquisition of Brian Burns from the Carolina Panthers should benefit Thibodeaux, defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence and others on the New York line. Thibodeaux told Tom Pelissero of NFL Network that "it's exciting" to think about what he and Burns can accomplish together.

"Me and Brian, we have a similar body type," Thibodeaux said. "We have a similar style of play. But he's a little bit different. He's faster, he's quicker. He's obviously farther in his career than I am, so there's a lot of gems he's been giving me. And he's been able to help up my game a little bit, and I've been competing with him, giving him a few things I know, and it's been great so far."

As of Friday afternoon, DraftKings Sportsbook had the Giants at +115 betting odds to win over 6.5 games this coming season. Thibodeaux didn't directly address such forecasts but suggested he and his teammates want to be part of something special beginning with the Week 1 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings on Sept. 8.

"We're gonna play with all the things we played with back in the day," Thibodeaux said. "This is the 100th year anniversary of the Giants, so hopefully we can let those superpowers from our ancestors come and take over."
