STRONGS PRAIRIE − The Adams County Sheriff's Office is working on verifying the identity and cause of death of a body found in an unmarked grave on the property of a missing woman.

At 8:19 a.m. Thursday, a caller reported not being able to contact Sharon K. Miller, 62, for three days. The caller went to Miller's home in Strongs Prairie and could not find Miller or her son, Jami L. Lumby, 37. Deputies checked Miller's property and did not find her or Lumby, according to an Adams County Sheriff's Office news release. Deputies did find an area where the ground had been disturbed that looked like someone had buried something.

Deputies got a search warrant and found an adult body on the property. An autopsy had not yet been performed on Friday. The body has not been identified and the circumstances surrounding the death are being investigated, according to the release. Officials do consider the death suspicious.

The Adams County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who has information on Lumby's location or who had contact with Miller since Monday to contact the Adams County Sheriff's Office at 877-885-7786. People also can submit an anonymous tip from the Sheriff's Department App.

The Sheriff's Office has not said why they are looking for Lumby or who they think the body could be.

The Adams County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Wisconsin Department of Justice-Division of Forensic Sciences and Division of Criminal Investigation, the Wisconsin State Patrol, Adams County District Attorney's Office, Adams County Medical Examiner's Office, Adams County Fire District and Fenner Excavation and Trucking.
