Walter Cup and Other PWHL Items Make Permanent Home in Hockey Hall of Fame

The PWHL's Walter Cup is now officially on display in the Hockey Hall of Fame being showcased in the Hall's "Women's Hockey - Celebrating Excellence" display.

Alongside the trophy, which was won this season for the first time by PWHL Minnesota, several other items from the PWHL's inaugural season will also find homes in the display.

Among those items are goal pucks from the Battle of Bay Street, Liz Schepers' stick that she used to score the Walter Cup game winning goal, Nicole Hensley's shutout stick from game five of the Walter Cup finals, Hilary Knight's jersey from the Walter Cup playoffs, Aerin Frankel's goalie mask, and a pair of Jamie Lee Rattray's skates.

“The Walter Cup represents excellence in women’s hockey, and the Hockey Hall of Fame is known for preserving hockey history at its highest level," Jayna Hefford said in a Hall of Fame news release. "This museum is the rightful place - and only place - for the Walter Cup to call its home. The PWHL is thrilled to share this beautiful trophy for all hockey fans to see, and our hope is it will inspire championship dreams in young players everywhere."

Hefford herself is an honored member of the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Earlier in the week, the Hockey Hall of Fame announced their 2024 induction class which featured two women, Natalie Darwitz and Krissy Wendell-Pohl.
