LISBON, Ohio (WKBN) — Columbiana County Municipal Court has a new judge.

Governor Mike DeWine announced Friday that he has appointed East Liverpool native Kelly Linger to the Columbiana County Municipal Court. She will assume office July 23.

Linger is taking the seat formerly held by Judge Katelyn Dickey, who resigned after being appointed to the Ohio Seventh District Court of Appeals.

Linger will finish out Dickey’s term and will have to run for election in November 2025.

Linger’s career includes several roles including in private practice, as the president of the Columbiana County Criminal Defense League, assistant law director and prosecutor for Wellsville, acting judge of the East Liverpool Municipal Court before it was absorbed into the Columbiana County Municipal Court, and prosecuting attorney for Columbiana County.

Linger also serves on the board of directors of the Columbiana County Memorial Park and is a member of the Columbiana County Bar Association.
