How incredible would it be to have two professional organizers come to your home and completely revamp your kitchen and pantry? Well, that was Reese Witherspoon's reality when she invited Emily and Lauren from The Home Edit over to re-organize and clean up her space.
Even celebrities need help with this type of stuff! Despite Reese having a gorgeous home, she did have a few areas that needed some assistance and these girls were ready to help with whatever she needed.
The before and after are just so satisfying.
Emily and Lauren run The Home Edit, a home organization company and Youtube series where they help homeowners learn to organize their spaces and maximize their storage space while keeping it all looking beautiful. It's not an easy task!
This week the girls were thrilled to be working with the one and only Reese Witherspoon. Not only is Reese's home stunning, but she herself is such a bubbly sweet individual that this project was definitely a no-brainer. She's also been a fan of The Home Edit for years!
Reese needed some help specifically with her kitchen shelves, storage drawers, refrigerator, and her snack pantry. While she has all of the right things, they needed to be organized in a more efficient way.
Emily and Lauren are experts at cleaning out homes and keeping on what is essential. They also are huge lovers of clear bins, labeling, and aesthetically-pleasing storage. They knew exactly what to do!
What Did They Change?
These woman have a strict list that they follow when it comes to organizing someone's home. Here's their protocol!
1. Edit
This means taking out every item from the spaces to see what they're working with. They helped Reese eliminate some unnecessary silverware from her drawers and get rid of anything else she didn't need.
2. Categorize
Probably the most important part of organization! Everything needs a home and ideally items are grouped together. This meant giving Reese's silverware drawer a whole new look with multiple trays.
3. Contain
Container time! Instead of having snacks in their cardboard boxes or piles of dish towels, Emily and Lauren made sure all of Reese's items, from her pantry to her fridge, were in their own spots and appropriate labels. No more time-consuming searching!
Reese was in love with the outcome. So were we!
