Husband of missing Dodge County woman arrested on identity theft charges

Juneau, Wis. — The estranged husband of a missing Dodge County woman was arrested Thursday on charges of identity theft, for using his missing wife's credit cards.

Zachariah Rasch, 42, is charged with seven counts of misappropriate ID info - obtain money. He was given a $250,000 cash bond Friday, with the condition he not contact the victim or victim's family. Zachariah Rasch is the estranged husband of Crystal Rasch, who was reported missing June 23.

Cell phone pings from Crystal Rasch's phone last reached a cellphone tower in Adams County, near where Zachariah Rasch's family owns land, according to police. A 2023 Mitsubishi Eclipse owned by him was located in the area, considered to have significant evidentiary value, and is being analyzed by the state crime lab.

Crystal and Zachariah Rasch have a contested divorce hearing scheduled for Aug. 8. Zachariah Rasch had a domestic abuse restraining order filed against him Sept. 18, 2023.

Zachariah Rasch used the credit cards to purchase chemical resistant gloves, stain remover, liquid drain opener, a hoover spot cleaner, turtle wax, OxiClean carpet cleaner, Ozium auto air freshener and OxiClean wipes, among other purchases, according to the criminal complaint of his arrest. The complaint also details a number of cash withdrawals. A detective obtained video of Zachariah Rasch making the purchases.

When contacted by police, Zachariah Rasch denied taking any money from his wife or using her cards, the complaint states. When shown pictures of himself making purchases, Zachariah Rasch then admitted he was lying and had made purchases without her consent, according to police.

Zachariah Rasch was previously charged with violating a domestic abuse temporary restraining order in November, 2018 when he sent text messages to Crystal Rasch.
