Woman's BookTok Bedroom Makeover Is Giving Grown-Up Goth Vibes

BookTok has been known for helping to get virtually unknown author's names out into the public, but now the corner of TikTok that is especially designed for book lovers may have a new feather to put in its cap: interior design.

That's because one woman is crediting BookTok with helping her to redo her bedroom in the style of her favorite romance novel, and we don't know much about the book she was reading, but her room is definitely giving us some serious goth romance vibes!

Gone are the white walls that once made up @midlife_ish_kristin's bedroom. Now she has wall-to-wall black paint, a stunning canopy bed that she's covered with sheet black fabric, and some seriously moody mood lighting.

The only question we have is, what book are you reading?!

Despite making a super dramatic change to her bedroom, the OP couldn't decide what to do about her ceiling, so she asked her followers for their opinions. She had originally left it what, but wondered if maybe it wouldn't look better painted black, or with some dark and broody wallpaper. It seems like the response was pretty unanimous and people either wanted to see more black on the ceiling or something equally as dark.

Goth gardens are a thing, and you can make you own by following this woman's lead and adding some seriously dark flowers and decor to your outdoor space this summer.

From black bearded Iris to black cala lilies, there are so many dark colored florals that you can add as accent flowers, or make the stars of the show. All you need to do is find the right plants to fit the look you're going for.

And don't worry if your local nursery is short on black flowers, you can fill things out by choosing other dark varieties. For example, purples and blues can make great filler flowers for when you're looking for something a little more dramatic.

You can also find some goth florals where you'd least expect them. Did you know that sunflowers come in other shades ? There are deep red and purple varieties, too! You just need to know where to look for them.
