(FOX40.COM) — The Sacramento Valley and other parts of California are poised to see temperatures return well into the triple digits during the opening days of July and cities in the Sacramento region have begun to announce the opening of cooling centers .
On Friday, Sacramento County shared that a number of county and city locations will be opened as cooling centers.
Sacramento
• North A Street Emergency Shelter , 1400 North A Street, Sacramento
This center will be open from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Sunday and accommodate 45 people.
• Outreach and Engagement Center , 3615 Auburn Blvd
Opens at 10 a.m. on Monday and will remain open through 8 a.m. on July 8.
• Sam and Bonnie Pannell Center , 2450 Meadowview Road
Open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, except July 4.
Citrus Heights
• Citrus Heights Police Department Lobby , 6315 Fountain Square Drive
Open from noon to 8 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. Pets are not allowed.
Galt
• Galt Police Station Lobby , 455 Industrial Drive
Open from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Friday
Folsom
• Folsom Police Station Lobby, 46 Natoma Street
Open from noon to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, expect July 4. Pets are not allowed.
Elk Grove
Elk Grove’s cooling center will be at the Wackford Community Complex at 9014 Bruceville Road from noon to 8 p.m. every day until July 5.
Rancho Cordova
Rancho Cordova will open its cooling center at City Hall located at 2729 Prospect Park Drive.
The center will be open from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on July 1, 2, 3 and July 5.
San Joaquin County
Neighboring San Joaquin County and its cities have also opened multiple cooling center locations and will be offering free rides to these cooling centers.
Tracy
• Tracy Branch Library , 20 E Easton Ave
Open Monday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday midnight to 5 p.m.
• Lolly Hansen Senior Center (50+) , 375 E 9th Street
Open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
• West Valley Mall , 3200 N Naglee Road
Open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
• Larch Clover Community Center , 11157 W Larch Raod
Open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday.
• Transit Station , 50 E 6th Street
Open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Stockton
On Thursday, the City of Stockton announced it would open Community Centers as cooling zones on July 1 and have them remain open through July 10 during regular business hours.
