A sweet cat named Cowboy loves to watch the birds outside but his funny and cute way they look out the window has everyone giggling.

On June 11, 2024, TikTok user Lisa Dolan (@lisaatlark) shared a video of her adorable black and white cat named Cowboy and his love for watching the birds. Take a look!

Cowboy vs. the birds. Tbh we always thought he was partially blind so the fact that he can even see them is shocking to us 🤣 #cats #catsoftiktok #catlovers #catvideo #funnycats #funnycatsoftiktok #cutecats #cutecatsoftiktok #tuxedocat

In a quick 24-second video, we meet Cowboy, a cat, who like every other cat, likes to watch the birds out the window.

But Cowboy has his own unique way of looking out the window, and his dedication is making everyone laugh.

"What you looking at, Buddy?" Cowboy's mom says as she walks up toward the window.

At first, you can't really see where Cowboy is, but when you walk up closer, it looks like he's levitating, like he's holding himself up in an arm crunch, holding onto the window sill.

But when you're right up close, you can see he has his head behind the curtain, his body hanging below. It looks like he's just hovering in space because he's got his little toes on the baseboard ledge.

This is how he peeks out the window and watches the birds. You can even see the claw marks on the wall from him trying to hold himself up on that small ledge.

"Cowboy vs. the birds," the video's caption reads. "Tbh, we always thought he was partially blind, so the fact that he can even see them is shocking to us."

In the comments, people had fun giggling at the little guy and a lot of advice.

"He's such a cutie," one person shared.

"Scoot the table over for him," someone suggested.

"Please put a bench or cat tree there for him," someone else wrote.

"The little feets," is what caught someone else's attention.

"You need to get one of those bird feeders that attach to the window!" wrote another. "And a window hammock for him to sit in! That's hours of stimulating entertainment for him!"

In the comments, Cowboy's mom said they have tried a cat tree, but he never really cared for it.

"The funny thing is - we had one for the longest time, and he never noticed the birds," she explained. "One of the reasons we thought he had vision probs."

    Is Birdwatching Good for Cats?

If you've ever watched your cats watch the birds outside, you know that sometimes they get really into them. If there wasn't a glass between the cat and the bird, it probably wouldn't take long for the cat to go after the bird.

But being inside, is birdwatching good for cats? Is it good for their brain or more frustrating than helpful?

According to Spark Lark , birdwatching is a great activity for cats, even though the cat has to keep a safe distance and can't actually go after the bird.

Birdwatching "keeps them mentally and physically stimulated. It's important to ensure the safety of both your cat and the birds. Setting up a safe birdwatching space requires simple steps."

The site explains that indoor cats "can safely enjoy birdwatching if they’re provided with secured windows or screened areas that prevent escapes and injuries," and it's a great way for them to stay entertained and can "potentially reduce boredom and stress-related behaviors."
