The latest National Weather Service 'hazards map' features part of Colorado.

According to mapping from the forecasting service, 'heavy rain' should hit the southwest corner of the state from July 1 and July 4.

With this heavy rain could come flooding risks and dangerous travel during some of the busiest travel days in Colorado of the year. Mudslide and rockslide risk could also be present.

Never drive through flooded areas, as this is one factor that can be common in flood-related deaths. With all that rain, it will also be important to be aware of how it impacts water flow levels.
