Pit Bulls are often labeled as aggressive or dangerous dogs. While some may have experienced mistreatment and understandably show fear of humans, most are pure love bugs. Those raised in caring families often earn the nickname ‘Nanny dogs’ because of their devotion to the children.

This good boy is a shining example of this genuinely wonderful breed. His friendly nature and love for making new friends means his social card is always full.

Check out this video from June 19 to see him playing in the park with his pals.

Zeus (@ twogreek_dogs ) had a blast playing with the kids at the park. It’s hard to tell who was more tired out by the end of this play date, the children or the dog. Zeus got out plenty of energy, showing off his impressive jumping skills. He also displayed his strength by playing tug-of-war . This good boy could hold his own even when it was four against one. For children unable to have dogs of their own, a day spent playing with this friendly pup is undoubtedly a real treat!

    Benefits of Early Socialization

Experts say allowing puppies to socialize and explore the world before they are 16 weeks old can help build their confidence. This can prevent them from being fearful, aggressive, or unable to cope with new experiences as they age. Supervising these interactions, whether with other dogs, people, or children, to ensure they are positive is also essential. If a dog shows signs of anxiety, it’s usually best to bring it home and take it out again when it’s rested and calm.

Pet parents confirmed their Pitties also love spending time with kids! One person shared, “The kid next door, around 6 years old, comes over and plays with my Pit Bull unsupervised. My dog will sit and wait at a window to see him. When school is in session, Charon knows when his buddy walks by after school and wants to be let out to see him.” That’s adorable. Another person reported, “All the neighborhood kids loved my dog. I have a house full of kids, so they were included in her tribe by association. They would come to ask if the kids and the dog could come out to play. Some parents seemed a little nervous at first, but I always observed, and they saw she had training and knew how to play appropriately with kids of various ages. From our oldest twin teen boys to the baby girl.” A proper upbringing makes all the difference for both kids and dogs.

After spending the afternoon outside playing, it’s a safe bet everyone slept soundly that night. That’s a win for all parents!
