    Louisiana State Police: Kinder man dies after riding into path of car on U.S. 165

    A bicyclist who rode into the path of a car was killed Thursday afternoon in Allen Parish, according to Louisiana State Police.

    The crash happened after 6 p.m. on U.S. Highway 165 near Botley Cemetery Road outside Kinder, reads a news release from Troop D.

    Reginald Hebert, 50, was riding a motorized bicycle westbound on Botley Cemetery Road, but he ran a stop sign at the intersection with U.S. 165. The driver of a northbound 2021 Toyota Camry tried to avoid Hebert, but the bicycle hit its right front side, it reads.

    Hebert, a Kinder resident, wasn't wearing a helmet and was seriously injured. He later died at a hospital.

    The Camry driver was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

    An investigation is continuing.
