As the wrestling world mourns the loss of one of the most significant and influential wrestler's of all time in Sika Anoa'i, another WWE high-profile entity was dealing with his own personal loss. Last week's Monday Night Raw episode debuted the coming to fruition of the Wyatt Sicks storyline. Following, the promotion teased the extension of the plot on the June 24th episode, including host Pat McAfee working it into his ESPN show.

However when Raw kicked off, McAfee was not in his ringside seat as he has been since joining the show in January 2024. His co-host Michael Cole noted McAfee's absence but did not detail the reason that he was not with him. As explained by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter via an article from ewrestlingnews , McAfee was dealing the passing of his father-in-law.

Michael Cole advised viewers not to read too much into his absence, and later, it was revealed that McAfee had experienced a last-minute family emergency.

McAfee disclosed the tragic news that his father-in-law had unexpectedly passed away after battling an infection in an Indianapolis hospital, providing a detailed account of the events leading up to the tragic incident.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that McAfee was initially slated to play a part in The Wyatt Sicks’ angle on RAW before his absence.

McAfee has been heavily involved with the WWE since 2018, as both a wrestler and announcer. He wrestled in the NXT for a while before moving over to the mic, co-hosting Friday Night Smackdown in 2022. He competed at Wrestlemania in 2023 and joined RAW as a commentator earlier this year.

On Monday's episode, Wyatt Sicks member Abby The Witch appeared in a thick, dimly lit fog, chasing Chad Gable out of the ring following his securing a place in Saturday, July 6's Money in the Bank PLE. She then made her way to the announcer's table to deliver a package addressed to McAfee, clearly indicating his absence from the event was last minute.

The package contained a VHS video of The Wyatt Sicks' Uncle Howdy hosting a sit-down interview with his alter-ego Bo Dallas. The storyline concept is the brainchild of Dallas' brother, Bray Wyatt, who passed away in 2023.

It is currently unknown when McAfee will be return to ringside, but condolences go out to all friends and family of both the McAfee and Anoa'i lineages.
