COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) — Dolly Parton fans in Ohio could soon get the opportunity to display the music icon’s face on their automobile while supporting a good cause.

In a news release, Senate Democratic Leader Nickie J. Antonio (D-Lakewood) announced that she provided sponsor testimony on Senate Bill 290 to create the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library license plate.

Dolly Parton started the Imagination Library to promote literacy, it provides one free book a month to kids aged 0-5 and has been in Ohio since 2019.

“Dolly Parton has always been a fierce advocate for children and worked to bring kids in Ohio free books through the Imagination Library program,” said Antonio. “Purchasing this license plate creates an opportunity for Ohioans to demonstrate support for the Imagination Library. These unique license plates will, in turn, support the program.”

The plate features a picture of the star with her signature blond locks in a loose updo. The singer is dressed in a classic denim shirt. The words “Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library,” part of the program’s logo, are centered at the bottom of the plate in two different fonts, with “Dolly Parton’s” in a red script stacked on top of “Imagination Library” in a dark blue serif typeface.

Ohioans would pay $25 for the special license plate with the money going to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio. The funds raised would be used for expenses like book distribution.
