A Golden Retriever shows how to be the "perfect gentleman" when he's offered a McDonald's Cheeseburger, and it's the sweetest thing to see.
On June 27, 2024, TikTok user Wilbur (@wilbur.moons) shared a video of the sweet dog who was the goodest boy while enjoying his McDonald's cheeseburger. Take a look!
In a video that's just over a minute-and-a-half long, we meet up with Wilbur , a good boy Golden Retriever who really has the sweetest demeanor.

Wilbur loves cheeseburgers, and in the clip, we see not only how much he loves McDonald's burgers but also how sweet he is when he's offered a bite.
"He's been sad without his family so he got a burger," the text on the screen reads. The kids in the family are not around at the moment, and the parents want to help cheer Wilbur up, and a cheeseburger is how they will do it.
After unwrapping the cheeseburger, they let Wilbur sniff it. His patience while waiting and licking his lips are the cutest.
Wilbur takes a small bite, showing how sweet and gentle he is. His mom, holding the cheeseburger, talks him through being gentle and taking small bites. And this sweet Golden Retriever named Wilbur doesn't ever break eye contact with the burger.
While being offered small bites, Wilbur is reminded to "back up" and to be patient. And being a good boy, he follows each reminder and patiently waits for his next bite of the cheeseburger.
In the background, you can also see his dog sibling, who is interested in the burger and patiently watches Wilbur eat his treat.
"Trying to cheer up my boy. He's sad because he misses the kids," the video's caption reads.
In the comments, people had a lot to say about the sweet, gentle nature of Wilbur.
"He wanted to lick the paper!" one person noticed. Wilbur's parents replied that if he had been allowed to lick the paper, "he would have eaten that, too."
"He's a good boy," one person wrote.
"What a sweetheart!" another shared. "Mine would have taken it in one bite."
"My English Bulldog would have taken your arm off," joked another.
"Now that's a good boy," someone else shared.
Others in the comments asked about the other dog, the one in the background, who looked like they really wanted that burger, too. The dog mama shared that she was able to enjoy a burger treat before Wilbur.
Is It Safe for Dogs to Eat Cheeseburgers?
According to the American Kennel Club , burgers don't always mix well with dogs.
"If you’re looking to give your dog a bite of the burger you’re munching on, you might want to reconsider," the organization suggests.
"Chances are, your burger might have added salt, spices, and toppings that can be dangerous to dogs, such as onion or garlic. For our dogs, feeding seasoned meat is a recipe for unpleasant digestive upset at best and pancreatitis at worst."
The club shares that a plain burger patty that's been unseasoned and cooked well "can be a healthy source of protein in addition to your dog's regular, balanced diet."
