ULSTER TOWNSHIP, BRADFORD COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Crews responded to a first alarm fire early Saturday morning in Bradford County.

The Bradford County Department of Public Safety stated that crews responded to a second alarm fire along the 3300 block of Saco Road just before 6:00 a.m.

Authorities say when crews responded on-scene, they found the homeowner and his dog had removed themselves from the home.

First responders found a working structure fire with heavy flames concentrated in the back corner of the home, and the severity was upgraded to a second alarm.

Pennelec also responded to cut the power to the home, according to officials.

Bradford County Comm Center confirmed there were no injuries, but that the home is a total loss.

According to a post made by the department, the Red Cross also assisted the homeowner and his dog.

Officials say the home has been ruled a total loss, and the fire is under investigation, and the scene was cleared at 9:30 a.m.

Ulster Sheshequin Fire Association, North Towanda FD, Athens Township Volunteer Fire Company, Smithfield Twp. Vol. Fire Dept. along with Ulster EMS, Guthrie EMS, Athens Borough Fire Department, Chemung FD, and South Waverly FD all assisted on scene with fire control and clean up.
