    Rescue team helps 2 fishermen in ‘challenging’, foggy Cumberland River conditions

    RUSSELL COUNTY, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A rescue team assisted a pair of fishermen Friday night despite unfavorable conditions.

    Russell County Search & Rescue (RCSR) posted on Facebook that crews were dispatched around 10:30 p.m. Friday to assist two fishermen who had run out of fuel near Winfrey’s Ferry boat ramp on the Cumberland River.

    Russell County Search & Rescue said CCEM requested the rescue team specifically due to “the challenging accessibility of the area.”

    RCSR said it took less than eight minutes to locate and assist the fishermen, “despite the dense fog making the search difficult.”
