    Forsyth County to use drones in medical emergencies, sheriff’s office says

    FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — Forsyth County is adding a new tool to its life-saving kit.

    On Saturday, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office shared a Facebook post announcing drones will soon be available in medical emergencies, flying automated external defibrillators to cardiac arrest patients. According to the post, this quick response can increase the chances of survival.

    Residents can learn more and see the drone in person at information sessions held at various locations in Forsyth County. The first will be on July 17 at 6 p.m. at Clemmons Branch Library in Clemmons.

    Additional information sessions include:
    July 24: Rural Hall Branch Library
    August 1: Lewisville Branch Library
    August 8: Walkertown Branch Library
    August 14: Central Branch Library, Winston-Salem

    Forsyth County Sheriff Bobby Kimbrough, Duke University and EMS will speak at the sessions.
