Coldplay's Saturday night headline set at the Glastonbury Festival was met with a common complaint from fans. The band, led by frontman Chris Martin, made history by performing on the Worthy Farm Pyramid Stage for the fifth time - a record no other artist has achieved.

As the concert began and was aired to viewers at home in the UK via the BBC, fans were quick to voice their opinions as the band, known for hits like Yellow, Viva La Vida and A Sky Full Of Stars, took to the stage. They opened their performance with the song Yellow, then segued into their hit track Higher Power. However, as the show progressed, fans couldn't resist expressing their views on social media.

One fan posted: "I like Coldplay don't get me wrong, but five times headlining #Glastonbury is just ridiculous . No band or artist should headline that many times. #Coldplay #ColdplayGlastonbury #Glastonbury24," while another chimed in: "If #Coldplay were playing in my garden I'd close the curtains #Glastonbury how can you headline 5 times! ! " A third wrote: "Feel so gutted for the 100's of 1000's that paid good money for a lame headline act #Glastonbury #Boring #Snoozefest.", reports the Mirror .

Some fans were over the moon to see them return to the iconic festival. One fan gushed on social media, "#Coldplay are and always be f'ing incredible. #Glastonbury," while another chimed in with, "Coldplay - headlining #Glastonbury 5 times."

A third fan expressed their awe, "How amazing does it look at Glastonbury with all the light up wrist bands for Coldplay #Glastonbury #Coldplay," and a fourth added, "Coldplay might not be everyone's idea of a Glastonbury headliner, but they're undeniably one of the greatest live acts in the world #Glastonbury."

Chris Martin has previously shared insights into the band's near-miss at their first Glastonbury gig.

In the BBC documentary 'Coldplay: Our Glastonbury', he revealed, "The hunger to go there was so huge. Our first introduction, I think, was probably carrying a not-very-good amplifier with a drunken tour manager who obviously didn't know what he was doing either. So we sort of had a very quick intake of the whole place, and then started where you should start, which is in the New Bands Tent, first on. I don't think I thought about the wider, how wild it was. It was just like we were here and we're late and it's huge."

Having made their Glastonbury debut in 1999 in the New Bands tent, Coldplay has since graced the stage in 2002, 2005, 2011, 2016, and notably headlined the Pyramid Stage's prestigious Saturday night slot this year.
