Matthew Perry’s October 2023 death shocked the world. The Friends star drowned in his hot tub not long after his assistant left the home to run errands. While the medical examiner ruled Perry’s death an accident, the use of ketamine was a contributing factor. The LAPD launched an investigation into how he obtained the drugs. It’s possible charges may be filed against those who helped Perry procure the drugs that ultimately contributed to his death.

In recent days, Brooke Mueller, Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife and a socialite, has been connected to the investigation. While original reports suggest Mueller and Perry knew each other after a recent stint in the same rehab, their connection reportedly stretches back much further and was romantic in nature.

Matthew Perry’s ex claims the ‘Friends’ star dated Brooke Mueller

Last week, reports surfaced that the LAPD was speaking to Brooke Mueller about Matthew Perry’s 2023 death. Reports claim the late actor and Mueller became friendly after meeting at rehab. Now, his ex-girlfriend is speaking out. Kayti Edwards told the U.S. Sun that Mueller and Perry met years ago and dated before Mueller married Charlie Sheen. Edwards allegedly dated Perry in 2006.

While the insider insists Mueller and Perry were romantically linked at some point, they were not seeing each other at the time of Perry’s death. Edwards told the publication that Mueller and Perry dated two decades ago. According to her retelling of events, the former flames met at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting and started seeing each other.

The relationship doesn’t sound like it was a serious one. Perry had several long-term, high-profile romances before his death. In his memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, he wrote about several relationships. The memoir, published in November 2022, didn’t mention a romance with Mueller.

Brooke Mueller has declined to comment on the ongoing investigation and her connection to Perry or his death. Charlie Sheen’s legal representation has offered some insight. Gregory J. Pedrick spoke to In Touch Weekly after news of Mueller’s connection to Perry broke. The lawyer theorized that the LAPD spoke to Mueller for “some incidental, anecdotal background” and nothing more. Pedrick did not mention if he had talked to Mueller.

Mueller and Charlie Sheen married in 2008. They divorced in 2011. They share twins, Max and Bob Sheen. The twins, now 15, live with Sheen full-time. Mueller reportedly lives in a sober living facility. It is unclear how often Sheen and Mueller communicate.
