WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — Ace Hardware stores and the Children’s Miracle Network teamed up for a joint block party while also celebrating the store’s 100th anniversary.

Ace Hardware off McNiel and Southwest Parkway threw the Biggest Block Party on Saturday, June 29, in which all proceeds benefitted the Children’s Miracle Network and United Regional.

Local businesses came out in support of the block party. There was a cookoff, lemonade, cotton candy and a car show by the Wichita County Corvette Association.

The relationship between Ace Hardware and the Children’s Miracle Network has always been strong, and Ace Hardware Manager Mandy Hollingsworth said she’s proud to help maintain it with the block party.

“Ace Hardware has always partnered with Children’s Miracle Network. It’s a worthy organization. 100% goes right back to kids in our local community,” Hollingsworth said. “Ace Hardware has always been in service just for our local community, s it’s been a really good partnership.”

The block party was at the perfect time as the Children’s Miracle Network and United Regional are preparing to promote a new level three neonatal intensive care unit, or NICU, which would provide better care for ill or premature newborn infants.
