One user shared a clip from the BBC's production of the set and wrote: "Unforgettable moment in Glastonbury history. Michael J Fox on stage with Coldplay," followed by a love heart emoji.

Another gushed: "However cynical and hard bitten you are, impossible not to feel something joyful when Coldplay plays with Michael J Fox at Glastonbury," while a third said: "Simply speechless! The band plays “Fix You” alongside Michael J. Fox! This is one of the best shows of the band's career, without a doubt!"

The feelings on social media seemed to all match, with another account writing: "Coldplay. Michael J Fox. Tell me you didn’t cry," while a fifth added: "Michael J. Fox is on stage with Coldplay at Glastonbury tonight….and now it’s awfully dusty in here."

When it was time for the iconic actor to make his appearance with the band, frontman Chris excitedly introduced him by saying: "Here's another legendary Michael - one who just totally rocks. With his Chuck Berry riff and the way he punched Biff, ladies and gentlemen please welcome Michael J Fox."

The actor lit up the main stage with his energy and was clearly loving the moment, strumming the strings and kicking his leg at the perfect timing as fireworks launched up behind him.

Days early, Michael had been seen out and about in his wheelchair and he flashed a peace sign at photographers. He had been spending time at the Chiltern Firehouse in London . The outing came just four months after he was overcome with emotion as he received a standing ovation at the 2024 BAFTAs. The actor presented the award for the Best Film and was met with cheers from the crowd as he stood up out of his wheelchair to give the award to the Oppenheimer cast.
